BUY THEM!
After all the grief of our junking spree there is a surprise waiting for a certain consumer. For the beat up soul suffering defeat as she just watched all the gold slip right through her fingertips at the last 3 shops.
We all love retro shoes – yes, of course we do! But oh – so rarely – so very rarely do they fit the feet of the passerby. On this very day, the shoes fit. Me.
A retro size 8 of ProKeds, fitting my 71/2 size feet perfectly. SOLD $24.00.
As we head to lunch I went for the green. I put these babies on and while strolling along Grand Avenue it is quite apparent that the general public is taking notice. It could be the strut I am sporting – I attempt to take it down a notch as I realize all I can really take credit for is for having the right size feet.
But hey, if the shoe fits.

Um, yeah.
There’s that. And yes I saw the throngs tripping over each other as they strained their necks to see your $300 designer – wait, no! $24 retro – shoes.
And let’s not forget, little miss fancy feet, that you also scored the $12 fabulous boots a few weeks back (http://www.outsandins.net/?p=1095).
The shoe always fits. YOU.
Happy for you, friend! : )
Oh and the grandma dress shoes she bought once-upon-a-time. The shoe does usually seem to fit you, em. Or you force it too and shed tears later. But whatever … I say wear it, especially in green.
This thread is reminding me of a quote from Dolly Parton in the movie Steel Magnolias, “In a good shoe, I wear a size six, but a seven feels so good, I buy a size eight.”
Thanks Crissy- it is time for me to see that movie again. Love that line – and love that you have it memorized.
as a thrift store shopper, it is almost a mantra!
Oh Em — write a whole novel — I love reading the words you choose! Love it! The strut taken down a notch — perfect!
