still digging in.

Mr. K’s feet. Working hard and long hours on our backyard project. Sweating. Shoveling hard soil. Lifting and hauling retaining wall blocks. Loading and unloading gravel into a wheelbarrow for back fill. And repeat.

One of my little feetsies at work. Digging into that soft sand. Working up an iridescent sweat from lounging in the sun and the warm ocean breeze. Going from the sitting position to floating on the water. And repeat.

Feeling guilty? Not a bit. Very appreciative? Yes. The voice in my head was “this is absolutely, positively, necessary.” This getting away in the sun. Unexpected and necessary both. A bummer when we can’t always have what is absolutely and positively necessary. And so nice when we can. I prefer to have this kind of treat.  I just had that. And I came home to progress on the We – as in he – landscape project. And I said thank-you many times to Mr. K and I really really meant it.
